 It's definitely not as thick as a fancy hotel comforter. It's thinner than my down comforter but the soft/coziness is very similar. I've only had it for about two weeks. It seems to keep it shape better than down which is nice, less of the common "settling" problem. I think with time this will be the perfect snuggle comforter but there are definitely fluffier comforters out there if that's your main priority. 

  it is very light which is one of the main reasons I love it. I am Diabetic and heavy covers cause pain in my lower legs and feet. Also I am hot natured so this comforter is perfect for hot or cold day's in NC. The fabric is ultra soft against my skin. I want to buy more of these comforters but don't know much about duvet's. You will love this comforter I am sure !!!   It's very lite in weight and soft ,I live in ohio and the winter night's as been very cold and had to use a blanket along with it to stay warm so it should be perfect for you even though it was not the comforter I wanted they sent it by mistake,never did get the comforter I wanted
